Have you ever heard someone share their life goals? Maybe their list was long or their aspirations sounded cliche.

They want to hike up a large mountain.

Or, they want to have a building named after them.

Don and Jeanne Blackburn never sought after that goal for themselves, but on May 16th, 2024, our nonprofit facility and after-care residence was dedicated in their honor.

Dedication to our Founders

An even more virtuous life goal that many boast is to do something that makes a real difference in the world. Whether or not the Blackburns ever voiced that desire, their actions over 25 years ago paved the way for the life-changing opportunities we now offer men in recovery every day.

When this couple took the first steps to found an after care program, it was because they simply wanted to walk alongside their son on his biggest climb of life over a mountain of addiction and onto a new path of sobriety!

By immortalizing their legacy through the dedication of our building, we honor their profound impact and ensure their contributions continue to inspire and guide our work – and other men like their son – for years to come. Their names imprinted on our edifice serve as a reminder of the transformative power a person possesses when they choose compassion and perseverance.

We celebrated this dedication under the trees in the front of our building on May 16, 2024 – a beautiful sunny day. We’re glad to share that not only did Don and Jeanne have huge smiles the entire time but they remarked on how beautiful our facility and landscaping looked! We’re glad to make them proud!

By gathering on such a day, we celebrate not just the appreciation for our founders but also the worth and resiliency of our participants. Several of our past residents who now serve on staff stood proudly beside our founders and the new, personalized sign on our building. (see below)

We wanted to showcase these moments now because we know the power of sharing in joy and gratitude. We hope you enjoy these beautiful photos and that you’ll continue to partner with us in the work the Blackburns started and we’re continuing to carry out.
